If you are a pedestrian who walks in any part of New Mexico, it is essential to understand the risks and be alert at all times while walking. Sadly, these accidents happen for many reasons, such as drunk or careless drivers. If you have been struck by a negligent driver, you should immediately examine your choices and have them held responsible.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that 66,000 pedestrians suffered an injury after being struck by a vehicle during 2013, according to estimates. Furthermore, pedestrian accidents during the same year also claimed more than 4,700 lives. According to statistics, these accidents were less likely to take place during daylight hours than when it is dark. Moreover, a greater number of pedestrian accidents happened on urban roads in comparison to rural roads.
